Put on your running shoes on Mother’s Day, the 11th of May, and have a fun run or stroll with us through the Mother City.
The Jive Slave Route Challenge will take you on a beautiful route of historic significance – from The City Hall, through The Castle of Good Hope, District 6, Gardens, Company Gardens, Wale Street, Bo-Kaap, Sea Point, Green Point Urban Park, V&A Waterfront, CBD and back down Darling Street onto the Grand Parade.
Pro athletes and day trippers are both welcome, because there are four events: The 21.1km Half Marathon, the 10km Run, the 5km Fun Run/Walk and the 10km Big Walk. Each event starts in Darling Street in front of the City Hall and ends on the Grand Parade. The ‘starter gun’ will be the firing of the miniature canon in The Castle of Good Hope.
Come and find us?
The Smile 90.4FM team will be in the Bo-Kaap at Refreshment Station No. 4. So, please come and join us for a cool Jive and a sweet koe’sister with a breath-taking view of the city. The Bo-Kaap Community will be handing out homemade koe’sisters and Jive with us after the runners ascend Pentz Street aka Koe’sister Hill.
See you there!
