Jazz lovers are again in for a treat – some of the best local and international artists will soon be descending on the Mother City for the Cape Town International Jazz Festival. This iconic event, celebrating its 16th anniversary, is ranked within the Top 10 jazz festivals in the world.
Billy Domingo from organiser ESP Afrika says the festival is not only about entertainment but also about developing young South African talent. “The work of so many young musicians is not recognized which just leads to them disappearing from the scene”, says Domingo.
In addition to the big international stars who will be performing, our local pride and joy will also be blowing their trumpets. These bands include Beatenberg, Delft Big Band, Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse and Zoe Modiga, to name but a few.
No less than five stages will be erected for the festival, taking place on 27 and 28 March 2015 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
