Our Furry Tales feature is clearly connecting animal lovers across Cape Town. Last week we shared the happy ending of sweet little Zoe’s adoption, and this week there’s the good news of what promises to be the happy beginning of more support for animal rescue organisations like Uitsig and Watershed. In this podcast Lizma van Zyl and Lindy Hibbard talk to Andre van der Vyver who owns the popular Michael’s Restaurant in Rondebosch with his wife, Claudia. Andre and Claudia were so moved by the Furry Tales initiative that he phoned Smile 90.4FM to ask if they couldn’t help organise a fundraiser for the benefit of organisations who help animals in need. And now it’s happening on Saturday, 26 July, when we will be partying for an excellent cause. Please come and join us and share this post with anyone who might want to raise a glass to all our furry friends and their selfless helpers.
Lindy also talks about her Mandela Day stint at Animal Rescue Organisation in Ottery. If you’d like to know more about their work and the kind of support they need, check out their website.
