Ziggy was surrendered to the Animal Anti-Cruelty League by an elderly couple who had to move to a room in a shared house with multiple tenants. Apparently the other tenants were not very kind to the dog and would often leave the door open for her to run out on the street unsupervised. The couple felt it wasn’t fair to her to be in this environment. The dog also suffers from a flea allergy, and the couple could not afford the treatment required to alleviate the problem.
Ziggy is about 10 years old. She is a Jack Russel mix and is a typical lap dog – extremely calm and very loving. Ziggy would be ideal for an elderly couple or a single person that spends a lot of time at home.
She is great with other dogs and though they are not sure how well she gets along with cats, judging by her calmness and due to her age, she would most likely not be very bothered by them. She is also excellent with kids, as she would often play with the couple’s grandchildren.
