The Electronic Entertainment Expo reveals the future of gaming

Last week was the Electronic Entertainment Expo. It is always difficult to get a handle on it, if you’re not a gamer. Given that gaming is a multi-billion Rand industry, I’ll give some of the highlights a shot!

Commonly known as E3, it concluded in LA last week, after several exciting announcements and reveals from the gaming world’s biggest players. Top of this list is of course Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft, with the latter two always determined to outshine each other. Now for us oldies; Sony owns PlayStation, while Xbox belongs to Microsoft. Between these two, they have a commanding hold on the gaming market and the industry keeps a close eye on them at E3. As you can hear, E3 is mostly a software brag fest, with new and upgraded games. Once again they did not disappoint with Mortal Kombat-X, Little Big Planet and Batman Arkham Knight. Other mouth-watering game updates worth 1080p graphics were announced for Call of Duty and Destiny. No doubt it’s going to keep millions of gamers glued to their screens, especially with even more inclusive online play facilities. Bobby Brown has the rest of the story.
